Excessive Pomeranian barking training will require your patience. Check your Pomeranian to find out if your Pomeranian’s barking habits are normal.
Pomeranian Barking can lead to a problem when it gets too excessive. Barking is of course normal nature of a dog, but some might be barking more than other dogs.
If you are not too sure whether the barking is still within the normal tolerance or not, you can check your dog to the breeder. Breeder is also the right place where you can get helpful tips on how to trick any excessive barking problem.
The rule of thumb here is that Pomeranian puppies should have gotten proper training since they are very young. Otherwise, they will tend to have a ‘yappy’ barking habit.
A proper Pomeranian bark will require the dog to bark on appropriate times only. So, the training is not to make your Pomeranian mute. Rather, he/she is allowed to bark on appropriate occassions.
Here are some helpful tricks on how to stop the excessive barking of your Pomeranian:
1. You should try to identify what stimulated your Pomeranian from barking? By knowing this, it will be easier for us to eliminate this improper habit
2. In order to get their attention and to make them obedient, it is better to provide your dog’s favorite treat during the training
3. When the dog keeps barking, you can tell him/her “Be quite” in a very firm tone.
4. If the Pomeranian barking stops after you tell him/her so, do not hesitate to praise them as they deserve it. You can also give them a little treat to stimulate them for being obedient.
5. If you find your Pomeranian still barking after you told him/her to be quite, you can wave a treat in front of his/her face and again tell him/her to be quite. When it works, you can give him/her the treat.
6. When they start to bark again, you do the same technique by waving a treat, but this time you should not give the treat directly, even though they are no longer barking. You should wait maybe 5 seconds of quite time has elapsed before you give your Pomeranian the treat as a reward.
7. You can increase the quite-time interval from one training to another, perhaps from 3 seconds into 6 seconds and then into 9 seconds and so on. You need to continue doing this exercise until your Pomeranian shows a progress in their barking habit
Excessive Pomeranian barking training will require your patience. So, you must be ready to spend sometimes to train your dog until they will bark properly in appropriate time only.
